A tip

One of the simplest truths about deception: lying takes work.

Convincing, Avoiding, Persuading, Selecting — these all take energy. So do the cracks that follow: Contradictions, AWOL, Pronoun shifts, Storytelling.

Truth flows with ease. Lies require editing.

When I listen to someone speak, I pay attention to the effort. Is the story being forced? Is there energy being spent on managing my perception? If so, that effort itself is the signal.

CAPS is built on that principle: effort betrays intention.
